OS Love

OS Love (April 2020)

What if you were born into a world that was not what you expected.  Where the dominant reality was based in hierarchy, power over and either/or.  What if that didn’t feel right and you knew it.  What if what was defined as “normal” was never what you were or what you wanted.  You knew it wasn’t right because what you remembered, knew deep down in your gut that things could be based in wholeness, connection, togetherness.  And you yearned for that reality based in love and unity.  But what if as you grew up you were told it was you who were “different” and not “normal” (meaning not good).  You who did not fit in, you that was wrong, not the soup you were swimming in, the dominant reality into which you were born.  What if as you got older the creativity of your mind that knew you as unique and essential was shut down or relegated to less than and the territory in which you swam got more and more restricted until you felt stuck into a fish bowl, swimming round in circles.

What if you remembered beauty and then was shown what beauty was considered to be in magazines and media and you internalized shame and feelings of ugliness and lack of worth due to your body and looks.  What if you were one in three known females to be molested or abused and learned your body was not a safe place to be.  What if you did not get abused or raped but felt the collective weight of that misogyny and tyranny and as a result did not feel safe in the world, indeed, did not even feel safe even in your own skin.  What if you don’t feel included what “masculinity” is defined to be.  What if you want to have a place for your sensitivity and have it considered a superpower?

What if you armored your cells in order to survive this dominant reality based in separation in order to survive it safely and did not realize that by armoring yourself you were actually trapping yourself in, into your armored cells and into the reality that you were born into knowing is not the one you remembered. I call this dominant system of reality OS Fear.  Operating System of Fear.  Fear is a natural response to something does not feel safe or right.  When you are born into a reality based on either/or, a territory that does not resonate with your hopes and dreams, fear is a no-brainer response.  It is natural and it is intelligent.  But it is not where we want to reside for too long if there is an alternative as it is survival based.  It is based in getting through, not thriving.  Not free to be me.  Not honored for who we are and what we look like.

But what if you are not the problem, you are not to blame?  What if it is not your fault?  What if the fear you are experiencing is a natural reaction to what you are a part of but did not wish it so in this form.  What if the system you were born into, the soup you are swimming in, is the problem and you are merely at the effect of it doing the best you can to make your life beautiful, meaningful and fulfilling?

What if reality was merely what you hold it to be?  What if you remember a reality in which kindness prevailed, where the dualism of our reality lived in harmony, not opposition.  A system based in both/and, connection and love.  A reality where everything has a place, everything operates on behalf of everything else, everything is always moving to the next greater whole and everything operates on behalf of everything else.  I call this OS Love.  Operating system of LOVE.  This is where we strive to be.  This is what we know to be true because if we didn’t know it we would not yearn for it as we would not know any different.

Many of us create our own reality on a daily basis the best we can based in OS Love.  An intricately constructed bubble in which we raise our children, grow our gardens, nurture our partners, tend to ourselves and our work.  We work hard to create a reality in which we want to live, an oasis from the dominant reality of OS Fear and domination into the hopeful and nurturing reality of OS Love.

It is important to tend to ourselves and this reality with care and diligence.  It is not escaping “reality”  to not pay attention to the dominant narratives of our times (ie: Facebook, scary movies, negative media, etc).  It is not being irresponsible or not being a proper citizen.  It is merely an act of paying attention and creating the reality you want to see in the world.  Where you place your attention, where you plant your seeds, fruits will grow and realities will form.  We do not have an obligation to pay attention to or live the dominant reality of separation into which we were born.  It is ours to do to pay attention to what we want to see come into fruition in the world.  And some can bridge the different realities.  Some can pay attention in multiple realms and bring them into some sort of coherent understanding and still stay in personal balance and wholeness.  But if you are not one of those people it is appropriate to allow yourself to pay attention to what gives you hope and positivity.  What stirs life generating feelings.  Especially now.

We cannot live only in our bubble.  The world encroaches on it constantly and we know that our bubble is connected to other realities. That knowing is part of OS Love.  In OS Love everything is connected.  There is a place for everything in the wholeness.  But we can choose what we focus on, what we give our time to.  And I choose to give my time to creating space for wholeness, love, hope, beauty, connection, harmony, clarity and what is life-generating.

I choose to create a reality for my children in which they feel safe and whole and the people who come into contact with me remember why they came here and what is unique and essential for them to be and do and have.  To love people into their wholeness and align with our eternal natures and hopes and dreams.  To bring in what we are connected to and what this planet needs in order to return love and harmony into the operating system of humanity.
